Therapy Talks: Adverse Childhood Experiences Part I
8m 49s
Miranda, a LLMSW Candidate, discusses our childhood experiences. Science tells us that our experiences in childhood greatly affect our mental and physical health as adults. ACEs, or Adverse Childhood Experiences, in particular are shown to have direct impacts on long-term health. So, why is it important for us to learn about ACEs? By understanding our own ACEs through the ACE questionnaire, we can work through parts of our past that may still affect our daily lives and build resilience. This, in turn, helps us support our mental and physical wellbeing.
